The Oyster bracelet was first introduced in the 1930s and has been established as the most universal style bracelet in the Rolex collection. Produced from high-quality 904L steel and 18K yellow gold, the Oyster bracelet is known for its durability and comfort. Movement & COSC Certification
The Rolex Daytona 116523 is powered by a chronograph perpetual, mechanical, self-winding calibre 4130 jewel movement, where the motion of the human wrist creates the energy to power the watch itself. Revered by watchmakers and enthusiasts alike, the 4130 calibre movement has been considered one of the best movements ever made. Developed and manufactured entirely by Rolex, the calibre 4130 architecture requires far less components than traditional chronographs making the 4130 incredibly reliable. The calibre 4130 movements are certified by the non-profit and independent Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) where it is put through rigorous tests for a continuous 15 days. The COSC reserves this highly coveted certification to movements that demonstrate exceptional precision in a number of varied positions and temperatures.
Since Rolex is a vertically integrated company it has the advantage of owning and operating its own foundry. This allows Rolex the ability to cast high-quality 904L steel and 18K yellow gold that is specifically tailored to its products. By acquiring only the purest metals and using in-house state-of-the-art equipment Rolex truly is unique as even the raw materials are given incredible attention to detail.
Meticulously designed for functionality and aesthetics, the Daytona’s engraved tachymeter bezel is dedicated to racing drivers and measures elapsed time over a given distance. Along with the chronograph the Daytona accurately measures speed up to 400 units per hour.
Initiated by pressing the screw-down pushers located on each side of the crown the chronograph sub-dial counters begin their high-precision timing. The central counter measures 1/8 second, while the two above measure elapsed time in hours and minutes. Due to the high power reserves provided by the amazing calibre 4130 movement the Daytona simultaneously keeps time and accurately maps your lap times.
